Finally a fully fledged vlogger. I actually got sick of myself talking about doing a YouTube travel vlog and finally did it. I had all the equipment (thanks to Argos and Canon), iMovie the free editing software on my Mac, all the footage from trips around the world…so I really don’t know why I procrastinated for so long! I uploaded a make up tutorial to YouTube five whole years ago and it’s had 195k views. WTF? But if you’ve been reading my blog or following me on Insta or Snapchat, you’ll know my passion is for travel and doing a YouTube travel vlog is the organic next step for me…a natural progression from writing articles and taking pictures.Details
Me and my notions decided to pack up and head off to the French Alps for a bit of R&R, or yoga and hiking actually, last week and I can safely say it’s the first time I’ve come back from a trip feeling better than when I left. I’d already been on a multi activity yoga trip with Yoganic Moves (well, if watching the crew sail the 99ft gullet yacht is classed as an activity) in Turkey earlier this year so when instructor Annick invited me to go yoga and hiking in the French Alps, it was a no brainer. You know the usual saying, “you’d need another holiday to get over it”? Well I got a bit sick of feeling worse-off after a supposed “break”, so I decided a bit of fresh air, outdoor activities and healthy eating were exactly what I needed.Details
I joined the donation based ‘Short and Sweet’ (there’s tea and homemade cake at the end) two hour long walk from Isla Blanca in the north of the island on an overcast Wednesday morning. I caught up with tour leader Sheila from Walking Ibiza, who is founder Toby’s mother, at the meeting point and she introduced me to some of the other walkers, some new and some regulars. Toby started organising tours after walking the entire coast of the island in 11 days with just €1 relying on generous donations of food and drink from locals and now runs tours around the island and shorter trips on a regular basis.Details
Last week I popped along to the launch of the Vintage Tea Party in the Beacon Hotel. Bubbles, make up, afternoon tea, cocktails and dinner …so yeah, basically a few variations of food and drink with some girly fun thrown in for good measure – the makings of a bloody good night away.Details
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, to have a bikini body you must have a body and wear a bikini. Simples. The more time I spend in one, the more I want to be comfy and confident wearing a bikini though. Much like someone who wears jeans a lot wants to be comfy and confident in their favourite skinnies. That’s where Underdog Boxing came in.Details
If there’s one thing I learned last year, it would have to be how to travel like a pro. The 34 flights, 14 airports, 5 boats and countless subways, metros, tubes, trams and trains I navigated taught me some valuable life (travel IS life) lessons.
I want to share my top travel tips with you over a series of blog posts, there’s far too much to cram into just one. Too lengthy = yawn.
We’ve all done it. Turned up at the airport and realised the charger is still plugged in beside the bed and had to dish out more cash than anticipated for an airport replacement. You’ve got no other choice at that stage, so they’ll charge whatever for travel tech and you’ll hand over the dolla through gritted…Details
