I don’t want to tempt fate, but I haven’t had a single mozzie bite so far in Ibiza…not one. That fact might not seem particularly impressive, but if you’ve spent any time with me in the sun over the past two years, you’ll know why I’m so excited about that. Another reason I love this island!
We’re staying at the four star Hotel Torre del Mar right on the seafront at Playa d’en Bossa and our room has a cracking view overlooking the Med. There are massive white day beds and big cabanas a few steps up from the pool, and what looks like a hot tub but it’s still a bit early in the year for all that. After a little stroll along the beachfront looking at the cute sail boats, we grab a jug of sangria and sit out on the lawn to catch up before heading off to check out a beach club.
DJ Jo Mills was on the decks as we arrived to Nassau Beach Club Ibiza, and the terrace was starting to fill up, so we got a good spot and sat down for a power hour of work accompanied by espresso martinis and a platter of fruit, because balance right?
All the staff look like models here and they’ve got a prime spot on the beach to set up shop for the day with a bottle of rosé catching a few rays. Mental note to return.
Next stop was the Harbour Club Ibiza, I knew I’d like this place the minute I walked in to glass walls of champagne bottles (not to be confused with walking into glass walls of champagne bottles, maybe on the way out) and chilled out tunes pumping. Sundowners of the day were glasses of cava on the big lounge seats by the beach, before moving over to our table. This place is a restaurant and beach bar that’s open from morning to night, so you could actually spend a full day there and their new cafe (which is actually more of a night spot) is opening on 1st June.
I’ve written a full review over on Essential Ibiza’s website, so have a look to get all the food and drink details. Considering I’m not a big sushi fan, I tried everything that hadn’t come in close contact with cucumber and even went back for seconds, a very good sign. Great espresso martinis too and my wine glass was always topped up with Albariño…making me one happy wannabe Ibicenco.
Tomorrow we’re heading to Babylon Beach for lunch, let’s hope this perfect May weather keeps up!
